13 Hours of Sleep Later I think I've overcome the Jet Lag

So yesterday after returning from gallavanting around Hong Kong, I decided to do a little reading. After, I was pretty tired, so I wanted to take a nap. That nap, however, turned into going to bed for the night at 6:45. Now at least I think I'm finally acclimated to the 13 hour time difference.
Today was orientation for international students. That went pretty well, I just have to change one class for it to count at BC. I met some more people today as well. Paying for my housing and opening an account, however, was a big pain. I was in the bank for well over an hour, and now I have to call BAC and tell them to transfer funds. Lots of walking around and lots of administrative stuff today.
I'm still without a converter/adapter, so I have to cut this short. Hopefully I can get one and skype soon. Take care.

I figured out the language on my Internet. Great News.

And by the way I woke up early today and went into Hong Kong. One of the girls here from BC with me actually lives down the hall from me and she came by last night with a girl she met. Our other friend came as well. They knocked on my door shortly after I had taken an Ambien and had gone to sleep. I was able to stay awake for a little while, however, and talk. We decided to wake up early today (Sunday) and go into Hong Kong island and just walk around. While we were sitting at breakfast, we actually met some other international students who came with us into the city. We walked around for quite some time. The humidity here is really oppressive. It never breaks, and it is omnipresent.
I was able to get some sheets, a pillow, and a phone today. My bed, however, remains the same size. When I woke up this morning and turned over I realized just how small a bed it is. I measured, and it is less than three feet wide. I promise I will put pictures up of my room, as well as my other travels, but I do not want to do so yet. I have not been able to find an converter/adapter, so my computer battery is running on fumes. That's all for now. Hope all is well.

I have arrived, and it's hot

It is a very long journey over to Hong Kong. I arrived about 20 minutes ago and I'm exhausted. I had a couple naps during my flights, but I stayed away from the Ambien. I was sitting in the very last row by myself so it wasn't that bad of a flight. There were a few movies I watched, and I read a lot. (Movies - Star Trek (good), Duplicity (forgettable), 17 Again (was bored) and The Great Buck Howard (better than I thought it was going to be).
This page in which I am writing this, and my home page, are mainly in Cantonese (or Mandarin, I'm not sure which one), so that was a nice surprise. My bed is quite small. I'll put up a picture of it as soon as I figure out my internet.
Hope everyone has a nice Saturday (it's 8pm here now - 13 hour time difference from Chicago).
My skype account is michael.jones2245 if anyone ever wants to talk.

First time blogging (Last time in the states)

So I just wanted to write something to just let everyone know that I'm starting a blog for my travels. If Hong Kong (or China) shuts me down, I'll send everyone emails on a (relatively) regular basis.

Thanks to everyone who came to the going-away party last night. And thanks for all the going-away gifts.
